While hemp is naturally anti-fungal and anti-bacterial, proper ventilation and regular washing (once or twice a month) are necessary. We highly recommend spreading out your shower curtain when not in use to promote faster drying and avoid mold growth.

Launder whites, colours and prints separately. Do not use bleach. Use moderate temperatures for both washing and drying.

To avoid any mildew growth, please follow these guidelines:

• 1. Include the shower curtain every so often with a load of laundry.
• 2. Launder the shower curtain with Borax, 1/3 cup per load.
• 3. Launder the shower curtain with vinegar, 2 cups per load. Vinegar is a disinfectant and it will help remove mineral deposits and soap scum from the curtain.
• 4. Keep a spray bottle in the shower that contains a dilute solution of the Nature Clean Oxy Bleach (e.g. hydrogen peroxide). We suggest filling the bottle halfway with bleach and the rest with water (i.e. 1:1 ratio). Spray along the curtain, about halfway down (not at the very bottom because this will just drip away with the water). Vinegar can also be used for this purpose.
• 5. Flip the curtain up over the railing so that the bulk of the water settles to the mid-point of the curtain. Then unfold and keep curtain open along the rail.
• 6. Place a 4 gallon bucket (e.g. a mop bucket) in the bathtub and drape the curtain around it.
• 7. Keep the bathroom door open, all fans on, and all windows open.
