Why silicone? Silicone is selected for the teethers because it is an inert material that is non-toxic, hygienic, durable and resistant to bacteria. Silicone is made of silicon, which is a natural element found in organic materials like sand, quartz, and rock. Silicon is then transformed into silicone when it is combined with oxygen, carbon, and hydrogen. Because it is a natural material, it is free of toxic chemicals such as Bisphenol-A (BPA), phthalates, nitrosamine, lead and polyvinylchloride (PVC).

Why don't these teethers have colour? Because silicone is such a safe and non-toxic material and babies naturally love the soft and pliable texture of the teethers, there was no need to add dyes to it.
