Why burn beeswax?
In short, we choose beeswax for better indoor air quality, for your health and to respect our environment. Beeswax is made from the nectars and pollens of Mother Nature with the assistance of the ever-so-special bee.

Paraffin, which used for conventional candles, is a crude petroleum by-product, a grayish sludge that is bleached (creating dioxins), textured using carcinogenic chemicals, coloured with artificial colourants and scented with synthetic aromas that produce flourocarbons when burned.

Never leave a burning candle unattended. Trim the wick to 1/4" before each lighting. A short wick produces a smaller, more controlled flame. For 3" diameter candles or larger, burn for a minimum of 2 hours for the first time and at least every third or fourth burn, to establish a nice "melt pool". A hole down the middle may develop if not burned long enough each time. Push in side wall of candle as it melts outto the edge to ensure optimal burning time for the life of your candle. Keep candles away from open windows, fan and heat or air-conditioning vents. The blowing air can move the wick and cause dripping wax, incrased smoke and can cause a glass holder to crack if flame gets too close to the holder. If you can see black smoke, immediately snuff your candle, dip the wick in the liquid pool and re-center the wick. Before re-lighting make sure you have eliminated any cause for the black smoke--wick, draft debris in wax? If you experience any difficulty lighting your candle, turn it on a slight angle while lighting to create a "melt pool" and hold until the flame takes on a life of its own
