Coyuchi bedding is made from hand-picked cotton and certified by Control Union International of The Netherlands and by ECOCERT of France. No pesticides, chlorine bleach or chemical softeners are used. The entire production and manufacturing processes are certified as per GOTS standards by Control Union.

Fair Trade: Third party fair trade certification ensures fair wages and safe and healthy labour conditions. Coyuchi is fair trade certified by FLO-CERT of Germany or by Ecocert Fair Trade of France.

Recycle: Made in whole, or in part from recycled ingredients and/or with recyclable materials. All inserts and stickers are made from 100% recycled paper using vegetable dyes.

Natural: Made with non-toxic ingredients safe for your health and for the environment. All fabrics are preshrunk and finished with no chemicals of any kind. Free of solvents and resins. Low-impact, fiber-reactive dyeing is used, which is very safe. In this process, chemical bonding and absorption rate are so high that less water, heat and waste are used/produced relative to chemical dyeing processes. Recent advances have created fiber-reactive dyes with colors that are brighter and richer than previously available, providnig excellent colorfast properties on cotton. They contain no heavy metals or other known toxic substances, and they meet all European Union criteria for being an eco-friendly pigment. But, the actual dyes in almost all low-impact fiber-reactive dyes are still petrochemical based. Depending upon the nature and degree of their chemical sensitivities, people with mild chemical sensitivities can often wear organic clothing with fiber-reactive dyes. Un-dyed, natural color or color-grown fabrics are the best choice for people who react to fiber-reactive dyes or who want only 100% natural, virgin fabrics on their skin.

Their stamp of approval is a guarantee that social rights are observed in the product of cotton, which takes place in the Peruvian Andes.. The co-op farms from which the cotton comes is fair trade (though not third party certified), with the small farmers enjoying increased financial security. For wool production, sheep spend the winter in a well-ventilated, climate-controlled barn with clean floors, fresh, dry bedding, and a non-rationed food supply. After shearing, the wool is washed with hot water and vegetable-based soap. This chemical-free process allows it to retain 4-6% of its natural lanolin oil, a natural dust-mite repellant.
